This unique mall situated on a lakefront far from Jakarta’s centre aims to be given a new face and name in hopes of enhancing its popularity and reputation.
Strategically, the main entrance is moved to the lakeside in order to improve the mall’s exposure and accessibility on the road level. A new vehicular and pedestrian bridge is proposed, linking the road to the new entrance drop-off. The new bridge will also ease traffic. Emphasising the openness of its frontage, the area is designed to host several outdoor activities, exploiting the adjacent water body. A large canopy covers the foreground, providing shelter and shade for shoppers, creating a promenade.
Internally, the mall’s shopping layout is improved via simplification whilst minimising structural changes. By streamlining its layout, shoppers are introduced to a less complex orientation.
